About our Incumbent The Reverend Jonathan Blanchard


Jonathan, his wife Deanna, son Timothy and Golden Retriever Moses became part of our church family September 1, 2016. Their daughter Samantha is married and currently resides in Winnipeg, MB. Pastor Jonathan has formerly served as Priest in several Dioceses including: Moosonee, New Westminster and Rupert’s Land. In total Pastor Jonathan has served as Priest for nearly 20 years. We are glad Pastor Jonathan, Deanna and Timothy are with us and pray that there will be many years of ministry with us at St. Thomas.

Choir Director - Laura Craig

Laura Craig is the Church Choir Director and is a major part of St. Thomas’ “joyful noise” is for the glory and praise of God the Father.

Administrative Assistant - Lynda Viau

Lynda has been a parishioner for 29 years and parish assistant since 2013 and is the voice you hear when you call into St. Thomas. If you need an announcement in the bulletin, information on church activities or help organizing a church event, Lynda can give you answers, point you in the right direction or direct you to the right person. She is found in the office Tuesday and Wednesday from 9:30 until 12:30 and Thursday from 9:30 to 12:00 to give help with a smile.

Treasurer - Pat King-Lacharity

The treasurer manages the Church's finances, and also has the responsibility of collecting offerings from the congregation and managing church donations. 

Organist - Bev Carson

The duties of the Organist for the Main Sunday Service are shared between Laura and Beverley Carson, a long time parishioner and choir member. Bev is a well known local piano teacher who has been recognized with a Special Teacher Award by the Ontario Registered Music Teachers Association.

Family Giving Centre Coordinator - Janis Barker

The Coordinator helps with the responsibility of running the Family Giving Centre to help those in need, primarily in the Westfort community within Thunder Bay.

Sunday School - Bonnie Shipston

For the past several years Bonnie has coordinated a team of three adults leaders, to present a one room computerized interactive Sunday School class.  Together they inspire the children to learn and grow a deeper relationship with God through PowerPoint presentations with bible lesson videos and songs.  These lessons are enhanced with the children making their own snacks, crafts or doing skits related to the day’s story.  The children are often seen at the 10:30 service as they present skits or songs at Thanksgiving, Remembrance Day, Christmas, Easter, Pentecost or Sunday School’s Year End.

Property Manager - Ken Koza

We have a volunteer property manager who oversees the maintenance of Church properties.
